Helm Circuit Breaker
« on: March 31, 2012, 12:05:52 PM »
All, I want to replace my helm CB for the baitwell pump (keeps popping). The pump is 12A and the CB is 5A...

The current CB is "Mechanical Products Inc" 250VAC/50DC with a 3/8" OD. The local parts store has CB but they are either AC or DC (not both). I'm assuming these CBs are DC and the replacement will be ok, but i'm not positive.

Are the Helm CBs AC or DC on a 1999 Aquasport 215DC?

Thanks

Where I'm getting mine these days...and I buy a LOT of them!  http://shop.sailboatowners.com/prod.php ... 20Breakers

Bought 10 last week, around $50 including shipping.  The push button Carlings like these (yeh, it says Blue Seas, but they are made by Carling) are suitable for 120VAC or 12VDC...

Thanks Seabob!

In the meantime, will the DC only CB work in a 215 dual console (1999)?

I think I'll order to replace all of them from that site...

But, tomorrow I was hoping to use my baitwell for the weird Franklin Co grouper season...

Dan,
Sure it will, as long as the stem (where the breaker mounts) fits the hole in the switch panel.  If not, you can always use it temporarily (just ty-wrap it to it's neighbor), than swap it out when you get your new ones...

Nah, we're just good bullchitters...

So what does Worst want these days for those breakers, around $12.50-$15?  What a joke!  And yes, I know about price-match...
