Glad to see you on our site. Gator Marine repaired my Hurricane 232's Volvo starter and water pump last year. Did a good job and fair pricing. Thanks

Thanks for the kind words. My prop company is located within the Marina and I help out in their parts department. Glad your Volvo is doing OK!

Dale, I have a 1983 222 with a 94 175 Johnson 2 stroke. Currently I am running a 14 X 19 OMC stainless prop. With 2 people and 60 gals of gas I cannot get above 5100 RPMs at about 40 MPH. It also starts porpoising when I trim it up at any RPM above 4800. Not that I run wide open all the time I would like to see around 5500 at WOT and stop the bouncing. Any suggestions?

We have had good results using the Stiletto Bay Pro III or Turbo Ultima 4 (same props, different box) on those boats. I would suggest we try a 14 1/4 x 17 BP III or Ultima 4 blade. That will establish a baseline for a good 4 blade and get us a good comparison to your 3 blade. I think you'll be happy with the mid range carrying ability of those props. They still maintain a decent top speed too. We have one in stock if you want to do some testing.

What are the advantages of a 4 blade over a 3 blade say on my 225 Explorer with a 200 Evinrude, I currently have a stock 15x17 3 blade prop, thanks.

There are different styles of 4 blade props just like 3 blade props. They each do something different depending on intended use. The Ultima 4s have great load carrying ability and retain good lift (efficiency). They can allow you to raise the motor which reduces gearcase drag which increases efficiency.

Some of the Turbo performance series 4 blades are running 80-100 mph on performance bass boat hulls.

Some 4 blade props like the Offshore series are made for boats running offshore in large following seas. They stay hooked up real well even in the large following swells.

Several different styles, different uses.

Wing - just spoke to my fishing partner and he has a new 3 blade Turbo hubbed for Evin / John, 14.25 x 15. It would make a good spare, even good for a heavier load or pulling water toys. It's new, we got it for his Skiff but never used it. PM me if you're interested.
