Now this is getting interesting there is no evidence of modification on the rear where that box would be but I only have two stringers and they are where the gaps are in this photo. I wonder if my boat was setup from the factory by owner requesting and that cooler seat is right where these 2x4s are so I’m guessing they where placed there for support

Ok seriously what is the best way to get the bonding epoxy or putty off the stringers I have been chipping away at this stuff for two days after work with a air chisel and have done little to get this stuff off. It’s as hard as concrete

I used a 7" angle grinder with 16 grit sanding discs. It worked pretty well for me.

Ditto, I used a 4.5inch flap disc(not wheel) 40 grit. Took about 1 1/2 hours. Cost around $10 for a good one that will last a long time. Wear your respirator for sure!

Diablo (@ any box store) makes a great 7" flap sanding disk in low grits, for your 7" angle grinder - like 24 and 40 - hang on because it'll make quick business of anything.

i guess it’s a good thing I just happen to have a 7” grinder with some 24 grit disks I can try on it
