Off course, the zoom out/zoom in goes into the blooper category!

If you go to the Radar full page, it's all a piece of cake.  But split the screen, and also want radar overlay on the chart, well, Lowrance could do a better job...or maybe I'm just stupid...

It is, but the touchscreen Simrad HSS-12 I did for one of my other customers?  Puts that HDS-10 to shame...CHIRP Sounder BSM-2 module, sees no problem down to 6K feet...and pricey!

And, yeah, wing, you have to get used to this stuff.  I do Garmins, Raymarine, Furuno, Lowrance, Humminbird, Sitex, Standard Horizon, they all have their TOTALLY different ways of navigating through their systems.  One can get confused...

Trust me I know I still have to hunt and peck my way around my Garmin now and then.  From my limited experience the HDS units had a UI (user interface) that made the most sense to me.

One thing I am liking about the Navico (Lowrance and Simrad) stuff is that they must have a GREATLY improved internal GPS antenna, as I have installed several without the external, they get a fix like NOW!!  And one less antenna I have to mount on the top and run down the leg of the top makes my life a wee bit easier...
