I'm having new badges made for my '72 170 (thanks Wingtime!) and the samples I got don't have holes for the rivets and actually look really clean without them. It got me thinking about just gluing the new badges on rather than riveting them back on (which I've never done...) as originally installed. What are the pros and cons of using an adhesive to attach the new badges? If adhesive is a viable option, what should I consider using for the job?

Is this company going to have these available to the public?

The Boat Help Shop just sent me a photos of the completed 170 badges and they look great. Wingtime helped them ID the right green and from the photos the badges appear to be excellent reproductions. They are en route to me here in Ohio and I will install them with 3M 5200 for my maiden launch at the end of the month down Capt. Matt's way in Pine Island Sound. We (wife and 12 year old son) rented a one room cottage on North Captiva for our Spring Break and the Aquasport's our only way there and back, so I hope it runs ok with the "90s something" Johnrude a buddy cobbled together for it last summer...

Think Matt will give up his home phone number just in case?!?

I just saw the reproduction badges.  They look GREAT.  The green looks pretty close to the color I have in my minds eye for the badges.  I think it's about as good as your going to get knowing the limited number of vinyl colors out there.  Yes they will making them available for sale.  I'm sure they will have them up on the web site soon.

The green 170 Badges are done and en-route to me now. I'll let you know how they look when they arrive here in Ohio -- and how the 5200 installation goes...

The 170 badges are here and look great -- and yes, they do want to make them available to Classic A'sport members. Contact Kenton at www.boathelpshop.com.

I also need new badges in PA for my "72   170 but they are different.  They say Aquasport Custom 170 and under in small print it says Aquasport inc 1969.  I have both on my workbench. The one is missing the top of the "t" and the "0" but the other is intact, just super brittle.  Do these guys cast them or can the do them from a print?  I'm not sure my badges have to be origional as I'm making other changes (tank under deck).  I don't know if there is a difference between a 170 and a 170 custom.  Maybe someone here knows.
I am interested in restoring my \"new\" `72 Aquasport 170
