Scarab Chris's Spreaders/UW Lights...AT A DISCOUNT!
« on: January 28, 2012, 11:55:24 AM »
A lot of you guys know Chris from THT, he owns All Marine LED down in Lauderdale, and in my opinion, makes the best spreaders out there!!  He builds all his lights himself, and stands behind his product like no other.

Since I have installed so many, he has designated me a distributor, thus I get a pretty good discount on all his lights, the spreaders, the UW lights, and the tape lights for cockpit lighting.

If anyone is interested, PM me here or drop me a line at seabobfour@gmail.com

A couple of install pics, mainly to show the size and also how they light up the cockpit...

2 spreaders on an arch on a H-S 22WA...

A single on a 28 Pursuit with a BIG cockpit...

If I may say something, guys.  I've been using, and recommending Chris's lights since he first came out with the spreaders 5 years ago.  I didn't know Chris, he ran a small ad on THT (different then then things are now), I said, hey, give them a try...simple as that.

Since then, Chris and I have become friends, simply because he's a good dude.  He makes all his product (gets the housings, the boards, does all the potting, solders all the leads, joins the boards) himself.  When you go on his site, and it says Coastal Night Lights is just him...well, it is.

You guys know I know my way around the boat business...boat builders, vendors, products, hardware, and all that BS.  I call a spade a spade.  And although I know Chris's stuff costs more than the traditional spreader, or doesn't have the name OceanLED does in UW lights, I recommend them to ALL my customers!!  And, usually, once they see them in action, they buy them.

So I just wanted to put this out there.  I don't use, nor install chit I don't believe in...

Bob and my other shipmates,

Here are the additional photos of the spreader LEDs you sent me - I think these photos say a lot more than the initial photos.

Thanks again, I'm going to order the 2nd spreader light and some more LED strips later on in late Feb or early March.  These products

are a great deal and we thank you, SeaBob4, for all that you do for us.

Now I wonder how much it would cost to UPS a case of Natty Lites on dry ice from Central California to Central Florida...

...let's see... carry the one... divided by the Interstate Commerce Clause... times the California Air Resources Board...

...minus any realized profit...  wait carry the one ? or the VAT tax ?  ...awe, shucks, Bob.  How about instead, I'll just drink a PBR

real fast, get a brain freeze, and then tell you how good it was ?

Trace,
Thanks for posting the pics!  Those are on the McKee Craft, she goes home tomorrow, just ran the motor and aired up the trailer tires...but she may be back!  Never know what Tipsy might want next!  Don't worry about the Nattys, Trace, the stores around here have plenty of them...

Scott, as far as a "discussion", well, there really isn't that much when it comes the UW lights.  Super easy install, a single 1/4" hole for the wire to pass through the transom, if that's the way you want to install (my preferred way), for a nice, clean looking install.  If you don't want to poke another hole through your transom, there are 4 molded in channels on the back side with exit points so you can run the wiring up and over, or to the side, or whatever routing you want, and the lights are still flush with thew transom.  (2) #8 screws secure them, bed the edges of the housing, the wire pass through hole, and the screw holes WELL with 4200 (I use 5200), and your good to go on that end.  I like to mount them with the bottom edge about 3/8" above the hull bottom, parallel to the bottom...

They come with about 6' leads, I combine them in the transom and run a single hot and ground forward to whatever switch you want to control them.  Breaker or fuse size need not be anymore than 5A, 3A would probably do the trick.

In the case of the Mckee, I had run out of switches at the helm, so installed a 4-gang Blue Seas switch panel on the side of the electronics box on the T-Top.  Controls UW lights, forward spreader, and aft spreaders.

Pics of the singles installed...

23 Seacraft

22 Hydra-Sports

I had to orient the lights on the H-S in the horizontal as his hull bottom, between tabs, transducers, and what not, didn't allow an orientation parallel to the bottom...

Any other questions?
