Vintage 191 Osprey
« on: October 20, 2011, 09:26:08 AM »
I have what I think is an old 191.  Are these hard to pull apart (deck from hull?) transom seems OK there is some glass work to be done but I'd like a look at the stringers. Love the lines of the boat. She is an open canvas at this point so my mind is thinking of all the possibilities that range from a restore to original, skiff type conversion and so on.....
I will post photos later.
tjx for any advice
Jim

PS if anyone has one of these and has photos to share please do.

definitely the Osprey 191 not the Gull. I will post some photos of this diamond in the rough tomorrow. Someone cut where the fuel tank was.

Noticed he doesn't have the pad on the bottom at the transom.  So the Osprey 191 has the regular 12 deg bottom - does the gull have the pad in '69?

Doesn’t make a difference how dirty they are. Because they clean up really nice. :thumleft:

Its hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like he does have the pad. Can we get another pic of the transom Mrboatguy (like the examples).

Either way its a Cool boat. 8)

looks like mine does have the pad you mentioned. I cropped the stern shot I have of the boat so you should be able to see it better.
At a crossroad sort of with it. Restore it? Turn it into a large open skiff with a large tiller motor or turn it into a Lobster/Picnic Boat. There is a guy in Maine that may have some parts to help. He wants to turn his into an open platform for hauling stuff to an island cottage.

she is a smooth lookin boat though no doubt.

We even had some Halloween fun with her! Herman goes fishin......
