I don't know if you guys have seen this thread over on THT but this guy bought a Proline 23 from his neighbor and the thread is about him fixing it back into running condition. After taking all that time and work his family didn't like the boat. If you want to read the whole thing you can or just skip to the last couple of pages and look what he got yesterday! Its actually a really good thread if you are running a Optimax (lots of info on how to repair them).

Lewis, he has been invited, and his boat looks sweet!  '99 215 Explorer, factory hardtop, 200 Johnson Ocean Runner.  Needs a little cleaning, that's all...

Lew, thanks for the link, read it from start to finish. Took about 35 minutes...good stuff.

Great reading, and as you've said, terrific pointers on troubleshooting/engine work.

Not a typical THT thread. Substitute the names...could have easily been a thread here. A very good thread. The THT members continued to laud it as "Thread of the Year".

Very cool, the last post from our very own :thumright:

Quote of the thread...after he had purchased the vessel and was attempting to drag it home:

"My wife drove through the neighborhood, found me, and had her first look at it. Her only words were "You have a serious problem."  Got in her car, and drove off."

This gent is one of us...welcome friend :thumright:

The Pro-Line rebuild was fun. It was definitely a diamond in the rough and I got it at a decent price. Learned a lot about that Mercury. Strong engine for a 225.

The 215 Explorer was a huge score for me. I still cant believe I managed to find this thing and get it with the profit from the Pro-Line only. I havent been without a boat payment for over 6 years.

Nice to be able to tell the wife "I told ya so."
