Crappy question

1998 Aquasport 215 Explorer -Potipotti ?

Looking at the Dometic 965, 5 gallon holding tank (lotsa females on my boat) At 15 1/2 " height it should just fit on the slide mount bracket under the bridge deck in the cabin - evidently this boat came with a 2.5 gallon Dometic 962 as the slide mount still has the smaller hold down brackets supplied with the 962.

Anybody using the 965 or any other Dometic toilet?   Comments welcomed........

When i replaced mine last year i wanted to go with the 5 gallon but it was to tall so i had to go with the 2.5 again.

Dometics are top-notch, but usually are pricey.  Thetford and Sealand make good units as well.  Most all of them have a common footprint, because the RV makers want to be able to use the one they want.

Thetford offers one model that flushes automatically - uses batteries or will hook up to your DC system.  They also have a cool recirc model similar to what aircraft use, but you will pay $800 or so for that one.

Keep an eye on eBay - these things often go cheap on eBay - do a search for "Marine Toilet" or "RV Toilet" and see what you find.   :thumleft:

Got the Dometic 965 from AnchorExpress for $110 shipped - its a perfect fit for the 215 Explorer, seems very well made and sits as high as a house toilet on the slide, very comfy and stable.

Gotta love it when everything comes out right.....

DT,
Unfortunately, although a VacuFlush is a great system, there is simply no room to install one on a 215 Explorer.  BTW, in the future, should your vacuum pump start to cycle when it shouldn't be cycling, it's usually one of 2 things.  The seal around the ball in the bottom of the toilet, or the hose seals where they enter the vacuum tank... :thumright:

Yep.  Used to be an option.  The hold down brackets simply screw down to the floor inside the console.  We even had a canvas "tent" that fit over the seat bottom to "ensure privacy"...
