200 Osprey, brackets, drains, water lines etc...

I have a late 80's 200 osprey with a 150 OX66 Yamaha on a single bracket.  I am wondering if anyone with a bracketed version of this hull and floatation bracket has gotten enough boyauncy to actually make the boat self bailing.  My scuppers are all the way underwater and I have to keep them plugged to avoid filling the pit with water.

I have done some rough calculatiions to see if what the effects of additional boyancu would be in regards to the scupper height and it looks like it could do the trick.  it would be nice to know someone else had had success in this area before committing to the change.

I am also concerned that the boat may be heavy due to water intrusion into the foam.  I would love to see what some pictures of other osprey 200s floating to see where there waterlines look compared to mine.  

Does anyone have a pic of one of these hulls with the cap removed?  It would be nice to knwo what I am getting into if I decide to pullt he cap.

It does sound like they are low. This brings up a couple of questions. What kind of bracket is it? Is it filled with foam? The pingpong ball scupper covers help a lot with this problem. Have you weighed the hull? Pics of course would help!

I have not weighed the hull.  The bracket is standard Gill or stainless amrine ( noty sure which) so it is about 24" long, 12-14" wide and starts about 18" deep and raises up to about 12" at the engine.  It is not foam filled.  

My concen is that I am running a 6 cylinder engine so I have more weight than most.  This coupled with the fact that the bracket moves this weight further aft of the center of bouyancy the extra weight has a more pronounced affect on how deep the transom sits.

im running a 200 e-rude on a 6 inch bobs jackplate. my scuppers sit about 1/4 inch out of the water... i didnt notice any difference after installing the jackplate... i did notice a difference when i added a trolling motor and but 3 deep cycle batteries under the front casting platform... scuppers sit almost an inch above the water now...

Great shots.  I am pretty sure your 200 will be pretty close in weight to my 150.  The shot without the trolling motor shows yours sitting much higher than mine does.  I need to do some testing with empty 5gallon pails tied to my bracket to see how far I can bring the transom up.  

I do think that I am holding water some where in foam or the hull because I think that my boat is also lower forward.  if it were just the cantilevered weight of the engine on the bracket I think that the bow would sit much higher.

My boat is also very wet when there is any kind of a chop.  Is this common in these hulls or is that a symptom of the boat being heavy and low in the water?
