Rub rail

I have a 2003 aquasport 205 Osprey rub rail looked pretty sad so I took off the insert  ordered another inert from Taco got it the other day in black it’s looks a little big it does fit but do you really have to heat it to 130 degrees I can’t install it at 105 degrees just not soft enough . Has anyone installed rub rail by Taco it was model number v12-0303bka70-1 just wondering if you used Taco or someone else thanks Kevin

I was able to just use a heat gun and putty knife when I replaced the one on my 225 Explorer a few years ago. I just lined up one side of the insert tabs in the rub rail and used the putty knife and heat gun to soften it enough to be able to push the other tab in with the putty knife. Took a little while but it worked. Sorry if that is not much help . I am sure someone here probably has a better way of getting it in there.
