The motors seem like they are in good shape, they crank right up and run good, plus prior owner said he had been using non ethanol fuel for the last few years. I am going to keep that going if it keeps the motors happy, but at $4.15 a gallon...ouch!

Yea that is an ouch but If I remeber. Those motors didn't burn alot of gas. For 140 carb. motors. They where fairly easy on it.

Just keep thinking of the maintenance $$$ you will save in the long run?  If you ran the boat everyday like your car, it would be costly, and mostly un-necessary, but since we don't, I think the benefits off-set the cost.  At least that's what I tell myself. :salut:

i would relocate that antenna wire away from the compass if you want to have an accurate heading. thats way too close I believe. I love that boat and have my eye on a 1980 246CCP which is about the same thing except the center console is different. Good luck with her!

Welcome Ocho Cinco.  I'm also the proud owner of a 250CCP and this forum has been an invaluable resources.  SeaBob4 in particular has been great.  Lot's of help here so don't be afraid to ask.

CircleHooked - Doc's CCP is a great looking boat.  Oh how I wish mine had that full transom on it.

NICE boat!
I'm jealous... Well into a 200 CCP rebuild myself and wishing it was a 250.
Drop me a line if you ever decide to sell her :)
Always looking for the "next" boat.

One thing I love about the older Ospreys (as I call the CCPs) is the use of teak for the doors, trim, step pads, etc.  Yeah, I know they can be a PITA to maintain, but the look...

My buddy who used to run the millshop at Stamas (now there's a LOT of wood!) has an old Proline 17 that he re-did with all new teak...man, let me tell you, that is one beautiful boat!   We used a lot of solid teak, needless to say, a lot of pieces went home with Nick...

Corner of 520 and A1A...
