BFH!   Big F#$@*@# Hammer!  That looks like you have a problem there!  I'd beat on them to knock loose the rust.   It looks like your looking at all new hubs backing plates etc etc anyways.

PB Blaster into all the crevices you can get it and like he said a big hammer! I have used a torch to get things hot seems like it makes the rust bust loose more easily.

you need a heavy duty slide hammer with a drum puller, beat the drums with a hammer (as stated) to knock the internal garbage loose, then start slamming it with the puller attachment and slide hammer.  Autozone probably has a free rental on one.. worth a shot.

I used a BFH and a small pry bar.  If you can get between the drum and backing plate with the pry bar and separate them all the way around then they will usually turn or can be removed.  Any way you go about it will be no fun.

Cut the nuts off that hold the backing plate to the axle flange with a torch, take off the bearing buddies, unscrew the axle nut and pull the whole assembly off and deposit in the scrap barrel. This makes the most sense to me without alot of BFH ing...

Try hooking it up to the tow vehicle and running in reverse.  Sometimes drum brakes will release in reverse even if rusted up going forward.  Just an idea that might save over-use of the BFH.

Is that trailer for your 20' or your 27'?  If it's for the 20', do you even need brakes on your trailer?
