215DC pump photos
« on: May 13, 2011, 03:19:42 PM »
Hello, all,
I had a request from a member asking for info on the 215DC pump arrangement.  My old computer died about the time he sent the PM, so I didn't realize I had a message regarding this until I was logged on the site today.  Sorry for the late reply, but I hope these images help.  These "after" photos were taken part way throught a general cleanup of the bilge area.  I don't know about posting the "befores". They're a little scary.

Photo one is of the diverter valve for the baitwell and washdown pump as seen through the deck hatch.  The pump is mounted vertically beside the valve on the port side of the boat.

Photo two is looking forward at the valve and pump.  The FloJet 4305-144 pump is the black rusted out hulk on the left side of the photo - hopefully to be replaced soon.

Photo three is of the pump for the fishboxes.  This pump is mounted horizontally on the port side of the boat.

Last photo is looking toward the stern from the deck hatch at the bilge pump and showing a bit of how the hoses are arranged.

So, we have the Bosworth Y-Valve for the washdown and livewell.  The old Flo-Jet is fine for those functions (glad it has lasted this long, but...).  However, the Flo-Jet that is in use for the fishbox pump-out is the totally WRONG kind of pump to use for this application.  Replace it with a macerator pump (more expensive, I know) that can chew up fish scales and chit...unfortunately, you'll have to re-plumb, as macerator's have a 1 1/2" inlet and a 1" discharge...

Nice looking bilge, though!! :salut:

Does anyone know what kind of valve that is (i.e. what make)? I have two of the same type on my DC and they are in bad shape. I would like to use the same type for mounting purposes.

I recently replaced all my pumps, similar layout as the photos. Not easy, not alot of space to work in...

The valve for the fish boxes is located on the bilge floor near the transom. Very difficult to reach in and rotate handle. I wish this was in a smarter location...

Are you telling me that the fish boxes have a valve?  Do you mean the live baitwell/washdown valve?
