2003 Aquasport Osprey Center console T-top

My boat has the small windscreen and has all the hardware for an upper wrap around, was this original ?

It looks like I will need to make a template of this if it is not original in order to get a screen made.

( in 3-4 ft seas we get spray over the small windscreen )

On TM models, the windscreen was standard.  The hardware consisted of a length of sailtrack above the electronics box, the snap studs screwed into the aft legs of the frame to secure it, as well as camelbacks on either side on the gunnels to secure it with the side flaps extended outward.

I know pete picked his up at Marine Connection for dirt cheap (and matching!), but Ft. Pierce is a long way from you...

The Sailtrack (I was wondering what that was called) is there, and the snaps on the aft rails,not sure what camelbacks are.

what is part number and website for Marine connection.

( this boat was from Fla and screen was not with it when brought up from there)

We called them camel backs, eye straps is the "technical" name, used also to attach bimini top straps...

I hope you get a positive reply, but don't hold your breath, I love the place, but they have so much stuff, they don't have any kind of inventory or reference sheet to tell them what fits on what, it's pretty much on you to know exactly what you want and what will fit.  Now if you give them dimensions and/or pics, they might do better.  Or if one of our members is going over there, get with them.

Contact Pete here.  MCL is his home away from home!!     Plus he lives about 1/2 hour N of them, and he knows where to look!

Dennis,MCL will not find one for you.I found one by sheer luck digging through a pallet sized bin of assorted canvas for 3 hours.Your best bet is to have one made at a local canvas shop.here is what mine looks like..good luck  







Hey Bob,what side flaps are you talking about?Mine just wraps around the t top frame.

On the earlier models, the lower aft corners of the windscreen had nylon straps attached with small clips on the end, we mounted eye straps on the gunnels to secure the straps.  Gave you the option of extending the screen out to the gunnels (had to undo all the snaps except the top one) for added protection for those not behind the console itself.  These were made by Aldon, which was bought out by TaylorMade.  Apparently, not a popular feature and thus eliminated...

BTW, I installed the first ever windscreen on an Osprey, didn't fit worth a damn...and Aldon patterned it off our top!

Thanks Bob,never saw one with wings,but some like them,some dont,PIA to get from bow to stern with those wings out.The enclosure like it is gives plenty of protection and makes quartering seas bearable.

I kind of like the wing idea, especially for getting into Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound.

guess i'm back to making a pattern, at least I know my local guy is good and inexpensive as long as I can get it to him before he decides to retire.

He did my seat and bolsters for $200 and his brother did my '49 Chevy truck seat for $200

Hey Dennis:

I have no dog in this hunt, as I only have a 170, but I agree that the wings could be a PITA.  Having said that, if I was expecting to navigate Buzzard's Bay I'd see about "at least" enclosing three sides of an Aquasport console with vinyl as far back as practical, especially if the tee top was sturdy enough.    And I know this sounds like blasphemy, but you might also pay a visit to a sailboat 'canvas' shop...they are accustomed to building dodgers for offshore work and may even already have a design that's close to what you need, with modification.

Perhaps there's a way to "hinge" the wing supports to make access to the bow simpler?

At the very lowest end of the solution list, I'm sure you have a few good sets of foul weather gear handy!
