water temperature instrument

hi,i've got a 1996 ocean runner 90hp and i would like to connect the water temperature instruments but i don't know wich is the signal cable,thank's

The tan wire.  You'll probably find a pigtail on the engine harness by the tach, unused...

Do you have a SystemCheck tach or gauge?  It will have an large deutsch connector plug on the back (forget how many pins).  You'll see a tan wire in that plug, it should branch out further down the harness to allow for a temp gauge hookup...

Consider a water pressure gauge vs. a temp gauge.  By the time it overheats, it's too late.  You will see low water pressure before she starts getting hot...    :thumleft:

Use both if you can; a water pressure gage will not help when a thermostat sticks closed. You can have great water pressure and still fry the powerhead.

Right on Fitz.   :thumleft:   Of course, Murphy's law says the themostat that is stuck will never be on the cylinder bank  with the temp sender.   :oops:
