So, jd wanted the original gauge tub out of the 200 for his new 222.  We made a deal since I seem to have the reputation of making chicken salad out of chicken.........feathers, I said okay.

So I did some research and found that lexan (bullet proof glass) works like metal.  In the way that it can be bent, cut, and drilled without cracking.  The search began.  I could buy a small piece online and pay shipping, or for the same cost get a 4'x8' sheet today.  So now I have a big piece of 1/8" lexan left.  I took measurements, Began cutting, and took to a friends shop to use the break.  Here's what I have so far.  I will install tomorrow and take more pics.

 I thought Big would use sheet metal but that is way slicker. :thumright:

Very nice Mike, that stuff is very easy to work with, and the finished product is very clean.  I used to use the clear, and paint the back side, then the front side apperas to have a high gloss finish.  But I now use the already colored black sheeting, just info for those that may want to fab some up in the future.  Great job!!  :salut: Marc

The tinted was more expensive, I choose the clear for that reason.  The clear does not have any uv protection though.  That's okay in this use because there is a tinted cover over the cluster.  And I scuffed it up with a red scotch brite and painted it black.  I also thought of making a mold of the tub and building one from fiberglass cloth.  I may still make the mold for future use.  There are people that need these and it would be hard to replicate if you didn't have the original to go off of.  I got lucky and had a friend with a good one that let me borrow it.
