1974 222 Aquasport Rebuild
« on: April 22, 2012, 09:18:08 PM »
Hi my name is Frank, I've been watching you guys do these rebuilds for a while now and I finally decided to give it a shot. I bought a 1974 Aquasport Osprey 222 and I've been working on it for a couple of months now. So far I've stripped it down to the hull, replaced the transom using the coosa bluewater26 and I've built some new stringers and have them installed with one layer of 3610 so far and I plan on finishing up with 3 or 4 layers of 1808.When I built my stringers, I built a 2 by 2.5 inch chase into them to run my rigging through to the stern and I installed some 1" pvc in each to run my wiring to the bow. I've also built a leaning post/livewell combo to go in it which will have tackle storage built into each side, I'll have a cushion and back rest with rod holders built for it when I get ready to install it. I'm going to start my bulkheads this week, I'll post some photos as soon as I get them installed. Here are some photos of my progress so far, there's a lot of knowledge on this forum and I'm sure I will need some of it in the future. Thanks, Frank.
