Spur of the moment project, got this almost brand new bimini top from my neighbor because it was too wide for the pontoon boat he is building.  WOW!! what a difference for cruising, the Admiral was very pleased, now she can relax in the stern chairs and not get cooked.  Folds up and stows nicely on the T-Top just FWD of the rod holders.  And, when I add the clevis' to the FWD gunwale tops I can move it up there for overnighting, along with the deck piece like Mike used, and should have a decent area to sleep in without the dew settling on you, can also add a tarp over the whole thing and down the sides a bit for more protection?

Nice, Marc!  My overnight experience was pretty good, with my hastily rigged setup on the bow. Basically, I rigged up a poor man's bow-dodger with the tarp. I wasn't wet, and I slept pretty comfortably in the sleeping bag, since I had an extra 18" of platform, so my feet didn't dangle over.  Does your 245 have that small 2" ledge also?

I go back and forth on adding a bimini to mine.  Sometimes I think I want a forward bimini other times I think a T-top extender would be better, although it doesn't provide as much shade, and costs way more!  

Have you taken yours out with the new top yet?

BTW, can't meet you at MCL this time.  I migt have an opportunity to stop by there late Thurs afternoon on my way back home from Melbourne, but Friday I'm back on the West coast.  But if you see any leaning post backrests (that slide in 2 rod holders like yours!) lemme know their price!

Yes, had it out this past weekend, solid as a rock at WOT, even left it up for the ride home on the trailer.  Will do on the back rest, what is the center-to-center measurement you need?  My leaning post seat may be slightly different?

My outer-most rod holders on my leaning post are 24" apart.  Overall width is about 36".  
No big deal if you're pressed for time... I can scratch out a day to get up there sometime later this month.
