Hmmm... looks like it hasn't been down long.  Undersea doldrums maybe?

Speaking of Sailboats, and Sailors.  A couple weeks back we had a fellow Navy Chief take off from Pcola heading to Norfolk via Okeechobee, on his personal sailboat (not sure on the size, I think around 28-30).  Anyway, he was by himself, and from what I heard the boat was not in the best of shape.  Many of his friends were (jokingly) making bets on what would happen, IE: Sink, get lost, etc... Well, as he very quickly discovered this undertaking probably deserved a lot more planning and thought than he had given it?  I don't know what nav systems he had, back -ups etc... but at some point out in the gulf after coming out of St. Joe and heading across, he radioed a Mayday somewhere off Tampa I think, but bottom line, the boat is gone, total loss, sitting on the bottom like in the picture, he was rescued and other than some minor injuries is ok, I have not gotten the whole story on this, but this post made me think of it.  Any News down there a few weeks back of a Sailboat going down??
