All good here in Durham. That was one heck of a storm! Most of the damage in our area was in a small town called Holly Springs and some in Raleigh itself. They say it was an EF3 tornado. One report I heard said there were 10 people dead in the state. Lots of clean up going on and still lots of people with no power.
edit: Death toll for NC is up to 23 or 24 people.

Good here....it petered out when it came thru early Sat. night. We had MAYBE 1/8 inch of rain, that was it.
NE of Greenville (JD's town) about 40 miles is Bertie County. They lost 11 lives there in a tornado Sat. night.
Most likely I had met some of them or their family members through some business I used to do up there. One of the things on my list this morning is to find out where to send a donation.
Ya'll keep them in your thoughts. They are good folk.
Thanks,
Scott

It was blowing hard as it came through my area, but the big storms developed as the weather moved east. 3 or 4 category 3, more category 2, and a whole bunch of smaller twisters. Death toll looks to be about 30. Several schools were hit and destroyed, but the kids were not there, so it could have been worse... For those students, as Alice Cooper said, "school's out for summer."

Weather was bad here in Greenville, NC. Had a reported tornado on the ground about 2 miles from my house. Appeared to be heading our way but turned north at the last minute. Greene and Bertie counties were hit very hard. I will admit, got very nervous here

JD,
Lew called today, asked if had seen the tornado tracks across Eastern North Carolina (ENC) ....he figured the southern cell had passed its north edge near you, and was concerned. Based on your thoughts...he was darn close.
Glad you guys came through safely. Not good news for our friends near you around Weldon in Bertie County. Called their church this morning. Those folk weren't wealthy to begin with. Much less now.
I donated to a single mother who lost her dad two weeks ago (before the storm). Now her aunt and uncle are gone with the storm. Her trailer is up in the trees. No trailer. No food. No clothes for her and the two kids. No nothing. What little she had blew away.
We all deal with tough times...but not like this. Whoever wants to help a single mother, just send a PM. Thanks.
