Hello,

Picked up a 87 222 that was in good condition. Any info or experiences on this boat would be appreciated.

Thanks Mike

As far as decals go, you will have to have some made by your local sign or graphics business.  Once I get done with my other projects I intend to have mine replacated.

I used to say something along those lines to customers when I was selling boats-

Customer: I don't know about that boat; I think it would be too big for me to handle.

Me: Are you planning on bench-pressing it?

Gotta love the humor, thanks. Did bench press my teenager once and felt it for a week.

I've been riding around on an 87 222 Osprey since it was new in 1987.

Had a 150-HP BlackMax on it till 2005 when I repowered with a 2006 150-HP OptiMax.  Getting 5-6 MPG on the new motor and just a nicer, smoother, quieter engine all around.  With a 4 blade 15x16 the holeshot and midrange is incredible.  The top end is not bad either as the boat is relatively light.

12-degree deadrise and straight sides, very little bow flare has me wearing my foul weather gear in anything but flat-calm seas.  No trim tabs means engine is trimmed down to keep the bow down in the chop.

With a 70-gallon fuel tank I've got range galore though most trips are out 10-15 miles and back as my sister and brother in law are the owners of the boat now and with 3 kids, they stay inshore as the 222 is a great inshore boat.

I can cut you a set of the old style logos if you like.  I think they are about 30 some inches long.

I would love to have some stickers made, I need the "aquasport " logo and the big 222 numbers. How do I get in touch with you?
