I see one red flag on the engine view... Looks like pretty substantial support plating on the transom; nice job however. Still indicates a need for some transom work. I don't think this is give her a bath and go by any means like Lewis' was. I see trim plates; if they are Bennetts they probably still work. Looks like a $1000 boat to me if the trailer rolls. I don't think I've ever seen a rebuild on a WAC. Perhaps you can be the first! I started one on a 24' Sportcraft WAC about 15 years ago and actually got the entire cap and inner liner out with a few cuts here and there. The epoxy bond to the stringers was poor so with the help of some oak trees, timbers and two come-a-longs she came apart in one piece. Is this boat still in Florida by it's registration?
That boat needs alot of work, every dollar that you don't spend will go right back into her,if I could'nt get that boat mucho cheapo, see you later!Lets say you give him $5oo,then decide its too much of a project,OK,part out the engine if it doesnt run $500+ right there, and if the trailers in good shape maybe $500 for it.But you have to do all the work, your time is worth money, the hull is a wash,it needs more put into it than its worth,it may clean up with several gallons of bleach, but if it needs a transom thats several grand right there, not saying what you should do,but there could be a way out if you decide its to much, parts for those outboards sell well on ebay,CL.It would be a grat rig if you are willing to invest the needed time/$. Good luck,we are here if you need help. check out theseviewtopic.php?f=6&t=6779there are good deals on similiar boats on CL everyday
Chances are the boat isn't going anywhere. Keep looking and let him call you. Pete is right, this a project from day one; many thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to bring her back to life. You could easily put $20K in her with new power. There are lots of turn the key and go boats for sale and with $4 a gallon gas around the corner, probably some really great deals on the horizon.
theres a boat out there with your name on it,you'll know it when you see it!
I think i should pass on this one.
