NEW TO WEBSITE-1999 Aquasport Questions
« on: March 10, 2011, 12:38:12 PM »
I am thinking of purchasing a 1999 20 ft Aqua with 2008 115hp Evinrude E-Tec.  What would be a fair price for this boat?  I need to purchase a trailer-does anyone know how much a rig like this weighs?  What should I look for when inspecting the boat this weekend?  Boat has been sitting in the water for a # of years-I plan on bringing it to a local marina so they can rack it for me and I can do visual of hull.  Any input would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

Probably 2500-3000 Lbs depending on fuel and gear you are hauling, a sturdy single axle rated for 3500 would do it, but if you want to have the extra piece of mind and not worry if you decide to take a long trip, get a tandem axle, then you will have more than enough trailer to do anything you want.  Just my .02 cents.

Thank you for your input on weight.  Do you all have any input on what I should be looking for when inspecting this vessel.
It is a center console 20 ft 1999 with 2008 etec 115hp?  Is 115hp be enough horsepower?  Should i worry about fuel tank?
thanks  :D

Probably 2500-3000 Lbs depending on fuel and gear you are hauling,
Marc

Let's see,
A 95 20 Osprey is listed at 1935lbs without motor and sports a 56 gal tank.
A 97 is listed at 2300lbs with a 112hp motor and has a 50 gal tank.
A 2004 is listed at 2145lbs without engine and has a 50 gal tank.

So......
Your 99 should fall right around that 1950 lbs+/- then add 400 lbs for the e-tec and 300 lbs for fuel and throw in several hundred for all your "needed" stuff and guess what. 3000lbs is a very reasonable high side estimate.

That's you Marc. :thumright:

Boat's rated for 150hp. 115 should push it OK but you need to base that on your type of use.
My CCP is rated at 235hp (I think) but a 200hp pushes it real nice.
You got deep pockets then there's no problem going with a bigger motor.

Tank?
Can't remember if we have had a member who has replaced one on a 99 model. You'll need to see if it at least passes the "sniff test".

Good luck.

sniff test = no gas smell in bilge, which would indicate a leaky tank or fuel /vent line
