« on: January 28, 2011, 01:04:57 PM »
i pulled the bow eye, loose and cracked out frt. found a can of worms. area very thin somebody hacked a repair here.need info on how to get a great bond of strength here. i've read structural repairs use epoxy resin w/fbrglass. one layer at a time, cure clean and repeat any body been here? have cut access in anchor well, dremeled loose  stuff out.can i just wipe clean old glass and get a good bond, can only reach 4to6 inches side to side on solid old glass.don't want to have a boat ramp nightmare.  tried pictures unable to upload so far. thanx tom

terb, that advice you were given will work just fine. Use a nice length of predrilled stainless inside as a backing plate. You can epoxy it to your glass layup at the end, you're golden.

Welcome aboard terb    :!:  :!:
In just about every forum one of the first posts explain how to post pix - it's not hard if you follow the instructions.  I'd be interested in seeing the damage at the front - may not be as bad as we think and could be other avenues of repair?
