Thanks for letting us know, was unaware. Looks like ch 27 or 28 just about anywhere will get the job done.

First off, Thanks guys for all the help/feedback on this subject. You guys spoke Loud and Clear
that a Fixed mount unit is the way to go. So after researching a few units I decided on the Standard Horizon Eclipse DSC - GX1000S

Sounds like a good unit to me. Got it for a great price, and the $10.00 Off rebate helped as well.
Also MarshMarlowe196 Antenna Suggestion post couldn't have come at a better time. A lot of good info in there. I ended up getting the Shakespeare 3' whip, Style 5241-R

that will mount on my grab rail. Should be approx 7.5' off the water.
