The numbers are in on Scotts new transom height.

Scotty boy, (Gran398)

After an exhaustive comparitive analysis, your new transom height numbers are in for the twin 75's on Miss Delmarva. Looking at my 73 with twin 115's the following conclusions can be made....

1)With the each engine offset of 13 3/4" from the hull centerline; 12 degree deadrise
2) Engine true shaft lenght of 22 11/16 (yes they are longer than 20") 75-125 hp Mercs
3) You want the engines sitting right down on the transom
4) Your new transom height at the the centerline will be 24 1/2 ". This would be for a stock aluminum propeller with very little cup. This is a conservative height that will allow the engines to be raised and addtional 1"-2" depending on your propellers.

Notes:
You can make the transom height an even 25" without fear.
The engine spacing allows for your transom baitboxes without interference should you choose to install them.

2000 Baycraft 175 flats boat, 60 Bigfoot Merc
1968 Boston Whaler 13, 25 Yamaha (project)
1966 Orlando Clipper 13, 9.9 Merc

Fitz, THANK YOU for taking the time to help me. I wasn't sure if Miss Marco was set correctly or not: everything else on that boat was so wombat, I didn't really have much faith in the engine install either.

I think I'll go ahead and set Miss Delmarva up with a standard 25 inch height, just in case down the road I or someone else wants to run a single.

Thanks again for your help, my friend!

Scott
