Interesting discussion on flotation here. Having done quite a bit of testing for proper flotation in my life I can tell you some are more stable than others when they are swamped. It depends on quantity and location of the flotation. Boats like Whalers put the foam where it has to be to hold the boat together. Others can put it where it ought to be to keep the boat afloat and stable.
