All I see listed at my nearest Sam's Club is Havoline TC-W3
$40.52/12 qt. case

$13.50/gal by my old brain.
It was in the low 30s when I bought my last case. So around 10-11/gal - looks like it's gone up, again.
I checked it at West Marine at the time and it was $29/gal at that time.
Sounds like the sale at West for 14 is ok - what am I, nuts!!! They have us thinking that is ok now....

I just bought some of West Marines Premium TC-W3 2-cycle oil.  It's on sale right now for $14.99 a gallon.  I found out this is made by Star Brite and is the same product as their premium synthetic blend TC-W3 oil.  I have read good reviews of it on other forums.

+1, It regularly goes on sale from 22.95 to 14.99, so I also make sure I pick up a few gallons when it does.

On sale for $12.95 this week. Time to stock up!

Good to hear the positive results with the Pennzoil Plus.

I have been buying it at Advance Auto Parts for a LOT less than West charges for theirs and it seems to be working okay but it's nice to hear about somebody disassembling engines with no oil caused problems:-)

Thanks for a great informational site.

Hi  Can someone tell me why I was told to only run Evenrude XD=50 in my 115 Johnson? And I must mention it's $29-$33.00 a gal. Is it only because it has a VRO/OMS system, or am  I just stupid?

Well, I'm getting yamalube for $17 a gallon, bulk right down the street, so I'm hangin with the OEM, This discussion always emerges on all the forums, I say run what makes you comfortable, I agree there is a lot of mystery to all the OEM loyalty, who really blends it for them, and what are the REAL comparsions ingredient by ingredient?? But at $17 a gallon, I'm comfortable, and the general consensus is these big block HPDI's are pretty finicky, the previous owner put 729 hours on it, all on Yamalube, so for now, I'm staying with it.

I thought the 115hp motors that year were all carb fed and not fuelies and a check of the BRP site for your year motor shows carbs so...

If it's carbed, then you're wasting your money. That oil is made for the E-Tecs and while it may help your old motor with carbon build up, it's cheaper just to de-carb with the standard de-carb stuff once a year if you must. You're just burning it up (the oil) so why not burn something cheaper. I don't think they even made the XD series oil in 2000 so use what was factory recommended (TC-W3 spec).

If you must use the factory oil, buy the XD- 30.  It's a little cheaper.
