Well, it was ruh-roh. Light and variable 58 miles offshore translated to NE at 15 to 18, 4 to 6 foot seas. Could not get on the fish. Anchor heading went through the day from 380 to 40 degrees.

Lets see. Caught 4 sharks, 5 pink snapper, 1 grunt, and a couple of prehistorics. Got thrown all over the boat. WOO HOO!

Never went the extra 8 miles to the break.....we'd had enough fun.

Then rode in 3 hours soppin' wet. WOO-HOO.

Glad we're home.

Thanks all!

We'll get 'em at the reunion.

We call them "Lizardlips." This butt-ugly, striped fish with a big mouth.

So why do we check the marine forecast??? After the all day Destin trip last Sat. Got up for an early fishin trip off shore which they just opened the waters back up after the oil, 1-3 SE 10 knots... wanted to hit some rubble piles out around 17- 20 miles to the SE... reality... 3-4, east solid 15 knots... hammered us hard...that was the Osprey's first real sea trial under my hand, no real complaints considering the sea state, but since I am trying to name her... Wet-N-Wild sure came to mind.... Lovin it...

gotta love the weather man... a day back in '99, weather called for calm to 5 knt wind seas less than 2 ft... we loaded up, hit the water, got 35-40 miles out. we're out for no more than 2 hours and next thing you know its blowin 20-25 knts and the seas churn up to 6-10 ft and cant see the bow of the boat cause its raining so hard... makes for a looonng ride home
