I picked up my 1969 222 in September of last year with the intent to make a Down East Cruiser out of it.
I have taken it to the Maine coast, Lake George, and down The Connecticut River this year. Passers by ask " Love your boat what make is it?". I respond with, it is a 1969 Aquasport I loved the classic hull lines.....
Feeling obligated to classicaquasport.com and there members for the great content in the site and forums here it is for the next guy.

WOW, nice boat. When you modify a boat this much how do you figure for added weight? I mean that has to be hundreds of pounds heavier then what it was right? How much more water does it draft and how is the ride with so much more weight up front?

Thanks,
It was ruffly 300lbs of wood and 40bls of epoxy and screws. The drinking water and porta potty add about 80bls when full. In total its like 400-440 pounds in the forward 2/3rds of the boat. The water line is the same as when I had 3 people in the front "2 sitting on the front bench of the center consul and 1 by the bow", so there is a bit of nose steer when crossing a good size wake or in a following sea but the hull shape has a lot to do with that.

Tell you what, you got a terrific job. A miniature lobster boat, complete with tongue and groove. Keep it up, and absolutely, we'll enjoy your pics. WELCOME to the family!
Thanks.
