Dell Quay "Aquasport"
« on: August 07, 2010, 11:18:23 AM »
Here are some decent pics of one of these Dell Quay Aquasports. Everytime somene posts a question about one they either never post again or don't post pics. I'm going to try to save the pics so we can explain the difference in the future when this question comes up.

Unless of course Rickk actually wants to start a forum for these guys as well!

Lewis,
Looks like a Whaler 15 Sport.  Did Hialeah really make them?

Looks like someone put Aquasport decals on some other brand boat.  There is a rumor going around that Aquasport bought Dell Quay before they went out business, but I've never seen that verified.  Did someone check the HIN?

Bob - good article!   :thumleft:   I have heard that Dell Quay was a Whaler rip-off, and they had a model called the "Eurosport" - maybe that is close enough for someone to think "Aquasport."    As a Whaler rip-off, maybe "Euro-trash" would be more appropriate - see some of the opinions in the links below...

I think this link establishes that Genmar and Aquasport did not produce any Dell Quays:

I would love to see that 13' Hatteras!!!       And put some Mercury Racing XS250 decals on the 25HP outboard!   :thumleft:  :thumleft:

You know, decals make it true!

Maybe the whaler site should open a forum to these people - we don't have a clue on repairing one of these things.  Sure we'd know how to gut it and rebuild it but.....

Last thing I want to do is turn our nose up at them though - we're a better clan than that.

Rick,
So I talked to Lewis this aft about this "Dell Quay" thing.  Obviously not AS's, but look like they need a home.  Care to start a separate forum for them?  I know a lot of guys over on CW and WC that could help with their rebuilds, as they are far more similar to BW's than they are to AS's...but don't know if I would invite the BW riff-raff over here.  Hmmm, gotta think...this will help!

I agree that the BW are more similiar to them - that's why I mentioned them starting a forum for the Dells
