Self Bailing -floor height
« on: July 28, 2010, 10:18:45 AM »
I am cutting out the floor now on my 78 222. It was a family fisherman
http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery ... 582/page/1
It has a 12 degree deadrise.
I am  going to build a new cap for it, but for now I am trying to decide on the floor height to ensure that it will self bail. I believe, but am not certain, that the height of stringers , and therefore, the floor is higher(less freeboard) on the FF than on the center console. The FF had a taller cap, like a ccp, so the freeboard was not an issue. Where the floor is now the new cap will strike just about at your knee about midship. From the lowest point in the the v of the hull, between the stringers, 12" from the transom, it is 16" from keel to top of the floor.
I have a paralift I am going to mount on the transom with either 140 or 150 hp two stroke. I will have a 20- 30 gallon leaning post livewell.

Any info would be appreciated.

i raised my floor on my 69 almost 4 inches. I can fill both livewells (80 gals) and have 4-5 peple and it self bails. But my drains are infront of my false wall and more to the center of the floor.
