have a 215 explorer (2002). in the battery box there is a black box that has 3 black rubber covered reset switches. Also has red button labled 40. Has a few wires comming out the bottom. Looks like a relay or GFI type reset switch for something. Have no manual to figure it out, so looking for help from the board... maybe Bob knows
Please explain, and when would I use it and for what?
Thanks, marc

Marc,
First, try my Photobucket Tutorial
here
. Pics are easy if you follow my directions...
Now, on to your "Breaker Box". The breaker labeled 40 is The main helm feed, it is a 40A breaker. This breaker protects the feed going from your batt or your batt switch (if you have one) to the helm. The other breakers in that "black box" are Stereo Memory, Trim tabs, and bilge float switch...

Rob,
We stopped using the Flux Capacitor when the Gamma Obulator came out...
We had Michael J. Fox out to test the first ones...
MTB, ignore this tomfoolery...

Bob and Bump, thanks for the responces it makes sense... except that if the box has 3 rubber covered resets, I am assuming they are for the Stereo, Trim and float... so should the 40 amp Main braeker go... does it have a reset as well? Is that red button labled 40 also a reset?
Thanks again...

Marc,
Yes, that red button with the "40" on it will protrude when the breaker is tripped...
You'll notice the difference between a tripped condition and a normal condition...BESIDES THE LOSS OF POWER!
