19-6 1979 Marathon
« on: June 19, 2010, 01:01:26 PM »
So I finally got my scanner hooked up and I scanned this pic I took in 1979. This is at Marathon in the keys. If you look close, yes those are 70 Johnsons from the factory. I had already posted this pic but I had just taken a closeup picture of it. This one is a lot more detailed.

Skoot,
You're new prop!

Lewis,
I think we used those same dollies at WC/AS!

BTW, I touted you guys on THT this morn, said once again it is the best owners site on the net!  Of course, I'll probably get banned again, but...

Nutts,

Good call, you're right there.

Best engine Johnson ever made, 70hp. 3 cyl.

First engine Yammie ever made, 90hp. 3 cyl.

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

You sir are exactly right! My buddy's mom had a time share there. These boats rented to the owners for 25 bucks a day. I guess I ll have to scan the other pics of the area, at that time the old bridge was still in use. They had an on site guy that took care of them and if you didn't know anything about boats would take people out fishing. We got to know him and would "borrow" them at night and run out to the reef edge and load the boat. We had so many fish in the boxes they wouldn't even come close to closing. Man that sure was fun!

Stayed in Knights key probably 10 years every summer and dove the bridge and fished offshore. I know all about that place! Until they sold it, kicked everyone out and then never did anything with the property! Oh well. We now have a place down the street in Key Colony, works out just as good! Great pics, keep scanning please!
