What a great site! I've been lurking (and drooling) for about a week so I thought I'd register and say hi. I grew up In Maimi and have always had an eye for the "swooping" lines of classic Aquasports.

My wife and I are interested in buying a used boat after the first of the year. Our boat "program" would be intercoastal and river cruising, some shallow water fishing, anual trips to the Keys and the Gulf coast. We need something efficient to run, trailerable with a mid-size SUV and garage storable so I'm thinking a nice Aquasport 170 would be a great first boat.

Is it reasonable to expect to find one in the $6-8K range that is ready to go? I don't mind doing some fixing up but I'd like to find one that we can use as is and do some work as we go along.

Well, that's my inaugural post but I'll put up some questions as new topics soon.
