My kind of fishing report
« on: May 30, 2010, 09:46:06 AM »
Here's a recent post for Lake Norman - can't say I've been getting 30-50 a day, but fishing has been good - fish are hammering buzz bait or topwater in early am.:

All I can say is IT IS ON FIRE! You throw it and you will catch em. They are off the beds for the most part and the feed bag is tied on.

Swimbaits, Buzzbaits, Spinnerbaits, Jigs, Worms, Tubes, Chatterbaits, you name it. If it looks like it might work laying in your boat or your tackle box, it probably will. Been just wearin' em out guys. Most folks are catching 30-50 fish a day. It's the best I've seen it in all of my years here. The cold winter really put it on them and they are getting caught up on eating big time and it's fun to be in the middle of it.

Bluebacks are spawning so topwater is just off of the charts as it the spinnerbait bite.

Come get u sum!!!!!

I'll be there early!  Let's go fishin'!

To quote a recent past president - "Bring it on!"

I had an idea yesterday - let's take the boat out!  Everyone on earth seems to have had the same idea...

Exactly why mine is sitting in the yard with the cover on.  I woke up just before daylight and my first thought was "I need to go out for a couple of hours."  Then I remembered that it was a holiday weekend.   :(

Actually the traffic in my neck of the woods is lighter than I expaected.  I took the missus and dog out on the 170 at 7ish this morning just for a cruise and it was a beautiful morning - light breeze just a ripple on the water.  We put in at Turtle Beach ramp, headed an hour south, turned around and came back.  Traffic was picking up on the way back but not as bad as I expected.  Got back to the house at 11:00 - used less than a 1/4 tank (6 gal), not a bad morning at all.
