stop flo ball scuppers
« on: April 06, 2010, 06:54:04 AM »
I got a 2001 150 suzuki 2 stroke on my 1987 200 osprey. Problem is this engine is the 2.7 liter block(same as the 225hp), so the scuppers sit below the waterline. Does anyone have any experience with the ball scuppers? How well do the work? It may be worth my effort to fill in the drain well so the deck drains straight out and raise the scuppers an inch or two.

Welcome aboard carldoc  :!:  :!:
Welcome to our dilemma - underwater scuppers and each of us have taken a different approach on them.  On my 170 I leave the plugs in and if I need to drain water I pull one when on plane.  Other do have the ball scuppers and I'll let them explain their expereince with them.

Thanks Rick....I keep my boat on a mooring, so it has posed a bit of a dilemma. I'm tempted to just put in the ball scuppers for the year. If it doesn't work....I'll take more aggressive measures.

Here's a thread from last year about the scuppers. Good luck!
