Seabob-I just saw in another thread that you were at Wellcraft in the mid 90s.I just purchased a 96 wellcraft 238 coastal. Any insight you can give me into this boat? I understand that there is no wood below the waterline and also generally poor access into the bilge. I really love the layout with the full deep walkaround and large cockpit. What is with the plastic covers at the corners of the transom? Were the giant brackets on the swim step really needed (both external and internal)? Is that something that was done as a just in case since this was one of the first years with a full integrated swim platform? I thought they were aftermarket and an indication of a problem until i did some research and saw them on a few other boats of the same vintage. Thanks!I am going to hopefully have some pictures of the aquasport after this weekend.
Bob-It has a single 250 Etec (2005 power). It looks as though it was always run with a single. Yes brackets in the splashwell corners but also on the inside (looks like tied into the stringers). Not as classic as my potentially 73 aquasport but should suit us well.
