Bob, Rick, Marc,Bob, you are correct. This basically a take-off on a Morse "S" control, which is a single lever/single function control. You need 2, as Bob said, one for shift, one for throttle. The detent kit is for the shift control, lets you know when your in neutral.Typically when you have a single engine boat, and you want to use these controls, you go with the twin binnacle...
So since I only bought one ,what would my option beside getting another one?Marc..

I really like the unit I got, exactly what I was looking for, SS lever/casing 1/8" thick and would like to making it work. I'm good at fabricating stuff, just need an idea/or a product of a second device The thing that confuse me is that controls deals with two way of controlling the throttle so I'm no sure what to call whichMarc..
So what you bought was, in essence, a binacle control that has a neutral, Fwd, Rev plus the throttle - like a regular single multi-function binacle. The only thing it lacks is the "neutral mode" detent or slide engagement idle mode, correct? And you've mounted it already, and it works except for the idle mode?

Quote from: "Marcq"Marc,I don't think (I could very well be wrong) that you really want to fab something up to control the shift (or throttle) that works (or looks) much different than these type control devices.

Again, I could be wrong here but when I spoke with the guy on e-bay about this model (as linked by Marc) he clearly stated that it is a single lever with a single function (as Bob C stated) and can only control either or but not both.
