I'm considering putting a thru hull transducer in before closing up the boat. The little i've read about them, they seem to use them on inboards. Any comments?

I had the same thought but backed off when I saw the price of true through hull transducers.  Another option is to mount your outboard transducer inboard.  This requires an area in the hull that does not have any kind of coring, just pure glass.  It also requires a box glassed to the hull that will hold liquids.

I saw some threads in Bateau2.com about building one of the onboard types.

Got the stringers glassed in on sunday. Barely beat out tropical storm Fay.

Solid as a rock. Can anyone give me a cost estimate if I was to have a pro do this?
