222 w. bracket and open transom
« on: February 15, 2010, 08:11:06 AM »
I'm bringing my 222 back to life
New hydraulic steering
New Yami control
Freshly rebuilt 1999 Yami 200 (carbed)
With a Gil bracket 32"

Question is there any reason that I can't leave my transom
open.  I like the open space for several reasons.
I have seen many closed and I may decide to go that route later, although
for now I would like to keep easy access.

Any information available guys.

I would really like to get more information prior to drilling 10 holes in my transom.

Thanks and

I have a full bracket on my CCP and the transom is open (stock).

Makes it very easy to get in and out.

Looks like it will do the same for you, if you leave the boat a lot.

Thanks captain Bob
Got any pics.

I'm a little concerned with bracket install height.
Sure I understand 1" per 12" back, although still concerned about final height.

Thanks

Not the best but you can see that the top of the platform is flush with the cutout in the transom.

I then adjusted the height of the motor on the bracket.
I can't go any lower but that's not the point. I still have adjustment higher.
I was pleased with the performance so I never messed with it after the initial install.
