1970 240 Sea Hunter I/O rebuilld advice needed

Guys, I have found a ragged-out 240 I/O. Would like to convert it to open trasom 25" outboard....thoughts? Buy it or leave it alone? I can pick it up for 1k.

I have a 1976 24' side console w/I/O and trailer for sale.I'm looking to get $3000.00.Trailer is probably
worth 1500,2000. I bought it to redo but got hurt.Hull is in great shape and gel coat is good.

I had thought about going with an outboard but was worried about cost and weight.By weight I meant,gill bracket and motor.

mark i sent you a reply to your response. i am still looking for a 240 side console. i would like to see more pictures if they are available. my email is daddiving@yahoo.com. let me know what the floor condition is and you stated the gelcoat was stilll good. i would be willing to pick up boat, but need to see condition of boat as best as possible. my phone number is 305-785-0541.
