19-6 In deck fish box
« on: July 29, 2009, 03:13:19 PM »
I'm finishing up the transom reconstruction on my '77 19-6 and I hope to splash it for the first time this weekend.  I had a question about the fish box in the bow deck.  Is there any, or much, insulation around the surrounding tub beneath the floor?  I can add a piece of foam board on the bottom of the lid to help some but I was curious about below deck.  I'm curious whether this is worth using for a fish box or should I just plan on using it for semi-dry storage?

The fish box on my '75 22-2 had some sprayed on foam that was mostly gone by the time I got to it.  Since I reused the deck I wrapped the box with 1" styrofoam.
I had to recore the lid so I used 1/2" ply.  Not too concerned about heat exchange for a box that should be emptied daily in my case.

The small box in front is a rode locker I added.
