Kickers
« on: September 10, 2009, 08:45:45 PM »
Anyone have a kicker on there 19-6. I have a 140HP Evinrude that is an 83 model and am thinking of a kicker for back-up. Is there room on the transom and what size would you suggest. Thanks  DG

No I don't have one yet but I would think a 9.9 would work. I found this bracket at cabelas site that will handle up to 115 pounds. If you look at the specs its kind of funny, they don't reccomend a 4stroke because of too much torque? I have never heard of that before. More weight I can believe but torque?

It looks very similar to this one, but the one at West states that it is a 4 stroke, go figure.

I have a 9.9 hp 2-Stroke kicker on my 170. It's clamped on to the transom without a bracket and there's plenty of room to use the tiller. I do a lot of speed trolling for Musky, Pike and Salmon here in Illinois. It moves it around pretty well, I haven't checked top speed on the GPS but it's probably around 6-8 mph. I would think that a 9.9 or a 15 would work well on a 19-6.

Put a 15hp evinrude on the transom and it fits great and moves the boat very well. Does not interfere with the 140 and looks good too. Thanks  DG
