1989 Aqua Osprey 20 - Tank size? Fuel burn?
« on: July 11, 2009, 09:06:34 AM »
Hello all!

I am the new owner of a 1989 20', and i love it so far. Im sure i will have a ton of questions in the future, but i will just start out with....what is the fuel tank size on this boat?

Also, i have an original 89 evinrude 150 on it, what could i estimate the fuel burn to be? Thanks!!

If i were ever to re-power it, would a 200hp be an option? Or is that too much for this boat?

Thanks!!

I believe 50 gal tank size, 2-3 MPG and a 175 is the biggest I would put on there. Your boat is pretty light. Another new 150 would work just fine as well.

Thanks for the help guys!

Well....after doing some research on fuel tanks, just out of curiosisty, i decided to pull some of the access ports off and have a look at whatever i could find. I found that i have a 36 gallon "Tempo" fuel tank:

It seems to be plastic/polymer...so that MIGHT be a good thing. At least this means it was probably repalced at some point?

What do you guys think, is this a good tank?

Thanks!
