To the new owner of my boat
« on: January 28, 2009, 10:38:45 PM »
I recently sold my "baby" . A 1974 aquasport 19'6" With a great running 200 hp merc .I had owned the boat for 14 yrs , raised a son growing up with the boat and many family outings aboard.Reason for selling ? I guess you could call it downsizing ,. Fuel costs and maintainance on the big merc were more than i wanted . But the purpose of this message is to tell you of the new owner of the boat. A young man (20's maybe 30) purchased the boat from me at a substantially reduced price because I wanted him to have the boat. Pleasant , polite,  respectful and appreciative would be a good description.I loaned him the license tag to trailer the boat about 50 miles home.He mailed it back to me as promised with a photo of him and a friend standing by his new boat showing off a string of freshly caught fish and a nice note hand written thanking me for taking care of his boat for the past 14 yrs . I am glad that he is the new owner. I can only hope that he will spend many happy years on the boat, maybe raise a child learning to fish, ski, and enjoy boating as my son did. Thank you Chase for buying my boat .Enjoy      Woody

Glad it worked out for both of you Woody.  Stay in touch.  Once an Aquasporter always an Aquasporter.

Thanks Rick. I shed a silent tear every now and then , but knowing she has a good home gives me comfort. Yes I'll always be an aquasporter and may own another one someday.Right now I'm rigging up a 15' whaler and anxiously trying to get all the kinks out. I'll be right here for chats and info .. Woody

Just got some mail from "the new owner of my boat" . Pictures and mention of being on the Classic Aquasport website . Seems the new owner is a proud poppa of the "Bikini Chaser ". Sure makes my heart feel good to see what he has done and how much he is enjoying it .Thanks , Chase for making my day ,   Woody

i'm so glad i just ran across this posting !

to anyone that doesn't know mr. woody he is a genuine hell of a nice guy.  i found this out within the first 30 seconds of the first phone conversation, he was extremely honest about the condition of the boat and replied "yup i think i'm finally ready to sell this boat." so i ripped out ASAP, so early that we had to stop by a nearby resturaunt to grab a quick beer and wait.  Once the deal was made I don't think my buddy and I have ever had more hand shakes and good bye waves,  I realize now that he wasn't being extrmemly nice he simply wanted that extra minute to say goodbye to his babe.

Thank you Mr. Woody for taking 14 years of great care of my new babe
I hope to have as many great memories on her as you and your family & friends did.

heres to great times to come
