I am repowering a 19'6 Aquasport with a 200 yamaha 2 stroke. I was wondering if it will hold it or if it is to big. The transom has been redone on it and currently has a 150 yamaha on it that is blown but it ran great with it but I got a great deal on the yamaha so I just wanted ya'lls opinion on it.

Welcome to the party!
Do you know what the weight of the engine is? Last time I checked, those engines weighed about 475lbs (I may be wrong). I have a fat heavy 4 stroker on my transom that weighs in around 420lbs, plus I rebuilt up and around the transom to accomodate the 25" shaft of the motor, so figure about 30-40lbs of material plus the weight of the motor, and it's close to how much your Yammy 2 stroker weighs.
My boat seems to be fine with the extra weight, but you'll definitely want to invest in some scuppers because water will flow in freely w/o them. You might want to invest in a bigger gas tank as well.........

It's not the same Carrabelle I think it is, is it?
Welcome aboard.
Edit: After reviewing the Forum docs, it appears that the 19-6 is rated for 185hp.

A 200 HP on a 19-6 would go!
The bad news might be from you insurance company - they don't like to insure boats with motors over the listed rating. Rated at 185, a 200 two-stroke is not much overkill for that boat, and newer 2-stroke 200s are about the same weight as older 175s and 150s.
You will also probably need a new prop - with a increase in pitch to match the HP increase. If you are running a 19 now, you may need a 21 with the 200.
See ya on the water!

Appears that my question I wanted to post "if a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke would be too much weight" is answered. I have a 73 flatback with the transom built up 5 inches so I think I would be fine. I run about 35mph now with 2 guys and full tank so can anyone comment on what to expect with the 150 4 stroke. I have great hole start ability now and hope the 150 would give me the same.
