Don't be nervous about doing the Non skid Marcq it is very simple to do. I used an old salt shaker for the non skid material and worked awsome. Just follow the steps that RickK put on his post for it it will come out AMAZING!!!!

For me it's the prep work that makes me nervous, should I use acetone to clean the surface that will be covered with gealcoat?

Sand it with a grinder/sander and repair anything that will come back through the non-skid in time.  Then before starting the process wipe it down with acetone and start rolling out your water run areas.
Don't be afraid of the process - I think the hardest part is dividing the boat into nice looking areas and laying down the water run coats. Then start in a small area with the 2 layers of tape so you learn how easy it is.  Doesn't take much glass bead either - half a gallon can will be more than enough for your boat.
I bought a small pint or half pint mixing cup for the glass bead and put a piece of screen over it and secured it with heavy rubber bands.  You could just as easily use a plastic cup that you have laying around.  The beauty of the process is if you don't like the results of your first attempt, sand it back off and try again.  You can do the whole boat in an hour or 2.

Thanks Rick/luv2 for the encouragement, going to start with the cover on the casting deck to practice myself and see how it goes, now I need to choose the color  :salut:

Your casting deck is WAY different than mine - mine has one hatch lid.  No need to do anything but the hatch lids on yours I would think. There is not a whole lot of room between the hatches. So you would take the hatches off, rebuild the hatch if it is soft (replace the wood underneath), fill in and re-drill the screw holes of the hinges if they are stripped, gelcoat the under side to spruce it up if it needs it, rough up the top with a grinder, wipe it off with acetone and then I would roll a first coat over everything although all you really need to do is to roll out the water run areas - in this case the outer inch of each hatch. After that kicks, wipe off the gelcoat with acetone and tape off the outer inch of the hatch for a water run with 2 layers of tape. Follow the instructions from there and you'll be fine.
Oh, and as far as color goes, a little goes a LONG way.  You can dip a wooden matchstick into the color and then into the white gelcoat and you'll see change.  I know you already have thought of this but just to reinforce the thought process, tint the entire gallon and then pour off the amounts you need at a time. The color in the can will be many times darker/stark in mass also - so go lighter than you think you want. Again, I know you already thought this part through :D

Well, went to pick up the gelcoat today, it wasn't 38 bucks for a gallon but $128  :(  and they only had with wax in it . Can I still do it ? Maybe I should  just do touch up but gelcoat is so difficult to match
That's what it looks like, don't even know what color that is

Why $128?  You could by 3 gals from that link I posted for that much, if I remember right.
With waxed gelcoat you need to wipe it down with acetone to remove the wax before recoating.
I don't know about matching the gelcoat color to the existing - may be easier to do the entire deck and sole.

Why $128 ? Because they're robbers   they're the only one selling that kind of stuff around here  :puker: I don't mind encouraging local business but this is ridicule  :puker:

Anyways, I just send an email to fiberglassservice.com requesting a shipping quote. Are they a good company to deal with?
