222 inboard conversion to outboard
« on: May 10, 2009, 05:22:13 PM »
A good friend has a 1972 or 1974 222 inboard he is considering converting to outboard power. Would that be a cardinal sin? Thanks.

Maybe a sin, but an improvement.  222s are best suited to be shallow bay boats (at least in Florida), an inboard ruins that.

Anyone can have an outboard version of an Aquasport. They are plentiful and easily attainable.  The inboard models are the exact opposite - a rare classic.

Wow... Maybe posting pictures in your signature instead of the thread is the way to go.  That's a nice big picture of a nice boat.

Try this, Just save as to your computer and then add it to your photobucket. Let me know if you would like it bigger or smaller

I should have said right click on the smaller picture I posted in my reply to your last one then choose save as and save it into your pictures folder upload it to your Photobucket account (if thats where you have your pictures) replace the line in your signature where your big picture is with the link to the smaller one I made for you and you should be all set.

Did you add the picture to your signature or did your daughter?
if she did it have her read this then any questions ask on here or PM me.
hope this helps

dont be afraid of posting on here we are all here to help. :bounce:

Let's try this.  The photo gallery has a feature built in that makes thumbnails of the pix that are uploaded.  To take advantage of this feature type -thumb in front of the .jpg (or whatever file type it is) in the url path.  I'm using {} so you can see the code instead of the square brackets the code needs to work:
{url=http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/data/500/18aquasport_1984_222_20_900-thumb.jpg}
This feature should show your pic small anywhere you type -thumb in the url (regular post, signature, etc).

O.K. I'll try that later tonight,but for now let's get back to the classic aquasports,around where I live in New Jersey L.B.I. area there are couple of inboards and 240 with a tower and sweet 222. They are from over in the Tuckerton area, and then we have a bunch of old 60'ish pacemaker/alglas wahoos all restored, these guys fish the white water on the outerbars of the inlet. My brother has a 77' 23 correct craft cc that was my dads. Anybody else have any inboards on here. what ever happen to Jimct wasn't he restoring one ? Thanks Rick for your help.
